This scheme is for companies employing professional archivists. The National Archives and the Business Archives Council are currently developing the scheme and it is hoped to be available for consultation in 2010. It will form part of the national accreditation scheme aimed at the archives sector as a whole, but will be designed with the specific needs of businesses in mind. Accreditation will give corporate archives the opportunity to achieve independent external recognition for their archive collections management.
