New Practice Note for solicitors

This practice note provides advice on depositing old client documents or early records about your firm with the appropriate local authority record office. The Law Society, working with the Selden Society, is keen to reverse the trend of the destruction or sale of these historically significant legal documents.

Booking open for Business Archives Council conference 2010

The theme for the BAC conference this year is Business Archives: The Unexpected! The conference will showcase the breadth of business archives and history with a focus on the unexpected and obscure. It will include talks on unusual businesses and collections and efforts to reveal and promote hidden business history. The conference will be held at the Freemasons Hall in London on Thursday 11 November.

BAC cataloguing grant winners announced

The Business Archives Council is delighted to announce the winning applicants of the BAC cataloguing grant for business archives. Launched in April 2010, the scheme is in support of the National Strategy for Business Archives. The Business Archives Council intends to make the grant available annually during strategy implementation, 2010-2015.
