Bank of England Archive catalogue now online
Since 1930 the Bank of England has had an archive department, but it is now much easier for users to find detailed information about the Bank's collections. From June 2012, there is remote, online access to over 56,000 records in the Bank's archive catalogue, backed by impressive search capabilities.
A particular feature of the catalogue is the name search, which allows users to access biographies of Bank officials and details of departments of the Bank and other, related organisations. This gives useful contextual information, as well as providing links to relevant records in the catalogue.
